I've run 9 marathons--Boston 7 times (as a charity fund-raiser for pediatric cancer) and Chicago 2 times. My marathon PR is 3:50:08. I started running 10 years ago--I was a student at Boston College and I spent that first marathon Monday drinking with my friends. Watching the runners that day inspired me and I vowed that I would run the marathon the following year. That was my best Boston time--4:09. In my first few years of running I consistently placed high in my age group (at local races, nothing major) and I know I am capable of greater speed and more intense training. For my tenth marathon, Chicago 2009, I am determined to qualify for Boston and run my best possible marathon.
Short-Term Running Goals:
Qualify for Boston!
Long-Term Running Goals:
Remain fit, active, have children and raise them to love sports and activities that keep them healthy, especially with my example as a runner
Personal:
I'm getting married in August and I want to have children soon after. This tenth marathon is the last one I will do before having kids!
